Parks
The Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department is home to more than 230 parks and facilities located on approximately 21,000 acres of parkland throughout Mecklenburg County. Parks in Mecklenburg County come in all shapes and sizes ranging from small neighborhood parks to large regional parks.

Park Hours
Parks are open sunrise to sunset.
Park gates will be open by 7:30am.
Parks with lighted facilities such as ball fields and tennis courts will remain open while reserved or in use but must close by 10:30pm

Greenways
The Mecklenburg County Greenway System is quickly becoming one of the finest in the nation. Greenways are linear parks that connect people and places. Greenways are vegetated natural buffers that promote water quality, help reduce the impacts of flooding, and provide wildlife habitat. Greenway trails provide recreation, transportation, fitness, and economic benefits for all to enjoy. There are currently 63.2 miles of developed greenway trails in Mecklenburg County, with more being built every year.

Nature Preserve Trails - 77.5 Miles
Park Trails - 223.06 Miles (113.47 miles of paved trail and 109.59 miles of natural surface)
